Celebrating Stretton on Dunsmore

A community project entitled "Celebrating Stretton on Dunsmore" is currently being undertaken by the village of Stretton on Dunsmore as part of the Millennium 2000 Arts and Heritage Festival for Rugby Borough. The project has been sponsored by the Millennium Commission Lottery Fund, Rugby Borough Council and Stretton Parish Council. Central to the project is a 170-page book recording over 1,000 years of history. In addition to well-researched historical facts, the book includes reminiscences from local residents of all ages, a walk map and a selection from more than 400 photographs which have been collected so far.

The high quality paperback, costing £6.99, will be launched on New Years Day 2000. The launch will be followed by a series of events throughout the year, including a village history exhibition in March 2000 and a combined event of open gardens and guided walks.
